World Autism Awareness Day

April 2 of every year is World Autism Awareness Day. This day shines a bright light on autism as a growing global health crisis. World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) activities help to increase and develop world knowledge of the autism epidemic and the importance of early diagnosis and early intervention. Additionally, WAAD celebrates the unique talents and skills of persons with autism and is a day when individuals with autism are warmly welcomed and embraced in community events around the globe. So do your part in celebrating this day and sharing by giving your voice to the millions of individuals worldwide who are undiagnosed, misunderstood, and looking for help.
What Is Autism? Click here to find the answers!
Children with autism are incredibly unique and, in my opinion, they bless everyone around them with a new perspective on life. Of course having a child with autism can be extremely challenging.Although I have not dealt with this first hand, I have seen what these parents can face on a daily basis. This is because I am friends with a few families who have autistic children and also know a student that I got to know during my internship who holds a special place in my heart. It really changes your life and grants you with a better understanding and love for these children.
